William Saliba injury update emerges as Arsenal defender faces December return
Arsenal have received a fresh update on William Saliba’s recovery, with the France international reportedly targeting a return to competitive action in December. According to RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins, the centre-back is continuing his rehabilitation from a back fracture and could be available before the end of the year if his recovery progresses without complications.
Saliba has been sidelined since suffering the injury while representing France at the 2026 World Cup, with Arsenal confirming that he would require an extended rehabilitation period but would not undergo surgery. The 25-year-old’s absence has forced Mikel Arteta to rely on alternatives including Ezri Konsa and Cristhian Mosquera alongside Gabriel.
A December comeback would give Arsenal an important defensive boost during a demanding period of the campaign, although no firm return date has been confirmed and the club are expected to avoid rushing the defender back into action.
