Wolves demand higher fee as Ajax pursue permanent deal for Arokodare
Wolverhampton Wanderers are demanding a higher transfer fee for Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare as Ajax Amsterdam explore the possibility of signing him permanently.
According to The Nation Newspaper, citing StreamSoccer, Ajax have reportedly opened negotiations with Wolves over a permanent transfer after the Nigerian expressed his desire to remain at the Dutch club beyond his loan spell.
The Eredivisie giants are reportedly prepared to offer up to €25 million for the forward, with a three-year contract also being considered. However, Wolves are understood to be seeking a higher fee for the striker, whose contract with the Premier League club runs until June 2029.
Despite the disagreement over the transfer valuation, Arokodare’s representatives are not opposed to a permanent move to Amsterdam. The ongoing discussions could determine whether the 25-year-old continues his career in the Netherlands, although an agreement between the clubs has yet to be confirmed.
