Zelensky has “questions to answer” on corruption — Sacked defence minister

Ukraine’s sacked defence minister, Mykhailo Fedorov, has said President Volodymyr Zelensky has “questions to answer” about corruption in his government, following a money laundering investigation into lawmakers and bankers last week.

According to the BBC, Fedorov, fired last month after reportedly clashing with Ukraine’s armed forces chief, said the case raised concerns about Zelensky’s awareness of corruption within his inner circle, though he had no evidence the president was personally corrupt.

He also renewed calls for wartime elections, insisting “democracy should not be the hostage of Putin.”
