Zelensky accuses Trump of betraying Ukraine, warns more civilians will die
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has accused US President Donald Trump of betraying Ukraine, warning that Washington’s recent decisions could lead to more civilian deaths amid continued Russian attacks.
According to The US Sun, Zelensky criticised Trump’s agreement to import Russian diesel and the reported suspension of Ukraine’s access to Starshield satellite technology.
Speaking during an interview with Piers Morgan, Zelensky said: “It’s painful when President Trump chooses one side, not our side.”
He added: “I think his advisers are wrong. I don’t know who is pushing him. Not to the right side, this is not the right side of history.”
Zelensky blamed the disruption of satellite services for weakening Ukraine’s ability to intercept Russian missiles and drones.
Elon Musk denied responsibility, saying restrictions were determined by the US military and ultimately the president.
Asked whether he felt betrayed by Trump’s decisions, Zelensky replied: “Really, yes.”
The dispute comes amid renewed Russian strikes and growing tensions between Washington and Kyiv.
