15 players could miss Man United vs Brighton as Carrick gives injury update

Manchester United could be without several players when they host Brighton in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, with Michael Carrick providing an update on his squad. According to Manchester Evening News, Luke Shaw is a doubt after missing the Manchester derby with an injury, although Carrick said he could return within days.

Carlos Baleba, Amad Diallo, Matthijs de Ligt, Manuel Ugarte and Tom Heaton are also unavailable for United. Baleba, who joined from Brighton this summer, is recovering from an ankle problem and could return after the international break.

Brighton face an even longer absentee list, with Stefanos Tzimas, Yankuba Minteh and Evan Ferguson among those expected to miss out. Kaoru Mitoma, Jack Hinshelwood and Mats Wieffer are also unlikely to return before the international break, while Georginio Rutter and Femi Azeez remain doubts.
