159 boys sleep in one room at Nasarawa nomadic school
A nomadic boarding primary school in Nasarawa State has raised alarm over overcrowded accommodation, with 159 male pupils sleeping in a single-room hostel.
According to Daily Trust, the director of Gudindi, Sabon Gida Nomadic Boarding Primary School, Isah Turajo, said the boys sleep on the floor and share about 100 mattresses.
He warned that the situation could trigger disease outbreaks, recalling that about 20 pupils were treated for suspected chickenpox last term. Turajo appealed to the state government, philanthropists and other Nigerians to provide additional hostels and essential facilities for the school.
