16-year-old Cavan Sullivan sent off in wild MLS ending against Messi’s Inter Miami
Manchester City-bound teenager Cavan Sullivan received the first red card of his professional career during Philadelphia Union’s chaotic 2-2 draw with Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami on Wednesday. According to GOAL.com, the 16-year-old was dismissed deep into stoppage time following a heated confrontation involving his brother, Quinn Sullivan.
The incident erupted after Quinn clashed with Inter Miami defender Ian Fray, prompting Cavan to intervene. The teenager then became involved in a pushing and shoving match with Miami midfielder Yannick Bright. Both Cavan and Bright were sent off, while Quinn received a yellow card. Sullivan will miss Philadelphia’s trip to Austin FC.
