‘Win or lose, 2027 is my last’: Atiku declares final presidential bid while repeating Tinubu certificate forgery claim
Former Vice President and ADC presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has declared that the 2027 presidential election will be his final attempt at Nigeria’s highest office, while simultaneously doubling down on allegations that President Bola Tinubu’s academic certificates are forged.
Speaking during a Facebook live session, as reported by Daily Post, Atiku said: “Whether I win or lose, 2027 will be my last time contesting for the presidency.”
The former vice president, who has pursued the Nigerian presidency across multiple parties and decades, also maintained his stance on Tinubu’s credentials. “I was the one who raised the issue surrounding President Bola Tinubu’s academic certificates, and I stand by my position that there was forgery. It is unacceptable for the President of Nigeria to have such questions surrounding his academic credentials,” he said.
Atiku served as vice president from 1999 to 2007 and has contested the presidency multiple times since leaving office.
