2027: Akpabio alleges Tinubu’s social media critics are paid
Senate President Godswill Akpabio has alleged that most people criticising President Bola Tinubu and his supporters on social media are being paid to do so.
According to PM News, Akpabio made the allegation on Wednesday while receiving members of the Arewa Revival Project, a northern youth organisation, in Abuja.
The group, led by Mustafa Ibrahim, comprises members from Nigeria’s 19 northern states.
“Most of those who are attacking the President and attacking these young men on social media are being paid,” Akpabio alleged.
He urged the youths to intensify grassroots mobilisation for Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 and counter what he described as misleading narratives.
Akpabio defended Tinubu’s economic reforms, particularly tax policies aimed at reducing Nigeria’s dependence on crude oil.
He also claimed the administration had recorded unprecedented development.
The Senate President maintained that National Assembly members supported Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
However, he presented no evidence supporting his allegations about paid online critics.
