2027 election already being rigged through voter register — Seun Okinbaloye
Channels Television journalist Seun Okinbaloye has warned that Nigeria’s 2027 general elections could be compromised unless the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) urgently addresses irregularities in the voters’ register.
According to Daily Post, Okinbaloye raised the concern during Friday’s Politics Today programme, alleging that electoral manipulation had already begun.
“The election is usually not rigged on election day. Don’t get it wrong. And whatever you may be, jumping around all of the town halls and the political podiums and platforms, the rigging of the election has in fact begun a few months ago. And it is still much on course,” he said.
He urged Nigerians and political stakeholders to demand immediate action before voting begins.
Meanwhile, INEC has acknowledged irregularities, including suspected AI-generated photographs, in its preliminary register.
The commission said the register was undergoing verification and correction before final certification on December 15, 2026.
However, the identified irregularities do not establish that the election has already been rigged.
