2027: Makinde jumps off stage, challenges other presidential candidates to do same (VIDEO)

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has challenged other presidential candidates to demonstrate their physical fitness ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to The Cable, Makinde made the remarks Thursday during the Makinde/Daura campaign organisation’s South-West town hall meeting in Akure, Ondo State.

The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) presidential candidate jumped off the stage, challenging his opponents to replicate the action.

“When they bring their presidential candidate, let the candidate come here and also jump down,” he said.

“If they can do that, vote for them.”

Makinde explained that his campaign would emphasise candidates’ energy and stamina rather than age.

He also defended contesting against President Bola Tinubu, despite both politicians coming from the South-West.

The governor recalled the 1999 presidential election, when Olusegun Obasanjo and Olu Falae, both from the region, contested.

He maintained that having multiple presidential candidates from the same geopolitical zone was not unprecedented and should not discourage political competition.
