2027: Makinde unveils ex-DSS DG Lawal Daura as VP pick at APM convention
The presidential candidate of the Allied People’s Movement, Seyi Makinde, on Thursday announced former Department of State Services Director-General, Lawal Daura, as his running mate for 2027. He made the announcement at the party’s national convention in Bauchi, according to Punch.
Daura replaces Ibrahim Bala, a placeholder pick, and recently joined APM after losing the ADC’s Katsina governorship ticket.
Makinde said Daura was chosen to tackle Nigeria’s security challenges, and urged the newly re-elected leadership under Yusuf Dantalle to work with other opposition parties to present Nigerians a “credible alternative” ahead of 2027.
