2027: Obi dismisses reports he turned down Atiku VP slot

Presidential candidate Peter Obi has denied ever rejecting an offer to become the running mate of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, according to Daily Post Nigeria.

Speaking during an interview on Arise Television, Obi said no such offer was ever presented to him. “Who said that? No, nobody… There wasn’t even any party where that offer was on the table,” he said, adding that he was never in a position to have refused an offer that did not exist. The clarification comes amid ongoing political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections, with opposition figures exploring possible alliances and coalition arrangements.
