23-year-old microbiology student crowned traditional ruler in Delta

A 23-year-old microbiology undergraduate, Prince Daniel Afamefune Chukwujindu, has become the new traditional ruler of the Ekwuoma Kingdom in Delta State’s Ika North-East Local Government Area, according to a report by The Punch.

Daniel, a student at Delta State University, Abraka, succeeded his late father, King Chinedu Samuel Chukwujindu, and was installed as the 11th Ajeh of Ekwuoma on Thursday, taking the title Ezeagu-Ukpo II. His emergence followed the kingdom’s nearly 400-year-old primogeniture succession tradition.

In his remarks, the young monarch pledged to protect Ekwuoma’s customs, promote unity and development, and urged residents to support the traditional institution while avoiding divisions that could hinder progress.
