Ex-GOC Ali-Keffi: Military was complicit if El-Rufai enabled Kaduna South killings

Retired Major General Danjuma Hamisu Ali-Keffi has challenged Defence Minister Christopher Musa’s claim that former Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai enabled killings in Southern Kaduna, according to a report by Sahara Reporters.

Ali-Keffi, who served as GOC 1 Division between 2021, said El-Rufai had no direct operational control over the military, noting Southern Kaduna fell under a different command structure. He denied ever receiving instructions from El-Rufai to halt operations or ignore civilian killings, recalling instead that the governor cooperated on troop movements.

Musa had earlier alleged El-Rufai deliberately planned killings, contrasting his tenure with current Governor Uba Sani’s unity efforts. Ali-Keffi insisted such allegations require evidence, not political accusations.
