VIDEO: Nigeria police officer caught saying Igbos, Peter Obi can’t become president

An unidentified Nigeria Police Force officer has been filmed making derogatory remarks about presidential candidate Peter Obi and saying an Igbo person cannot become Nigeria’s president.

Daily Post reported that the officer made the comments in a video circulating on social media, linking Obi’s presidential prospects to his ethnic identity.

The officer also dismissed Obi’s chances in the 2027 election, claiming the contest would be between President Bola Tinubu and ADC candidate Atiku Abubakar.

He further suggested that Obi should be excluded from the race and claimed votes from the South-East would ultimately be ineffective.

The officer’s identity has not been established. The report did not cite an official response from the Nigeria Police Force to the viral video.
