Hillary Clinton blasts Trump’s White House makeover, comparing it to Saddam Hussein’s Palace
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has criticised President Donald Trump’s gold-heavy White House makeover, comparing the décor to palaces once occupied by Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.
According to HuffPost, Clinton made the remarks during Kara Swisher’s “Pivot” podcast, describing the changes as “tackied up” and linking them to Trump’s desire to project importance. She also criticised his planned ballroom and joked about removing the gold after he leaves office.
The White House dismissed Clinton’s comments, pointing to her 2016 election loss to Trump. Since returning to office, Trump has added gold detailing throughout the Oval Office and West Wing.
