Ukrainian drone attack deep inside Russia kills at least 13
At least 13 people, including a child, were killed and 75 injured when Ukrainian drones struck Nizhnekamsk in Russia’s Tatarstan republic, more than 1,100 kilometres from the Ukrainian border, according to BBC News.
Ukraine’s Armed Forces said the city’s Tanevo oil refinery was hit, marking one of the deadliest single attacks on Russia since 2022. Seven of the dead were Uzbek citizens staying at a hostel, officials said.
Tatarstan’s regional head confirmed the strike, while Ukraine said such facilities support Russia’s war effort. Russia claims it downed over 450 drones nationwide overnight.
