Wike: I never lobbied for APC Campaign Council DG position
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has denied reports that he is lobbying to become Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 elections, according to Daily Post Nigeria.
In a statement by his aide Lere Olayinka, Wike said he had held no discussions about the role and reaffirmed his commitment to President Tinubu’s re-election bid. He said he was currently resting abroad after over 30 days of official engagements in the FCT and did not need a campaign council position to help secure Tinubu’s victory in Rivers State and the FCT.
