Two countries to grant Nigerians visa-free entry
Nigerian passport holders will gain visa-free access to Chad and the Republic of the Congo from January 1, 2027, according to Vanguard News. Chad’s President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno announced the policy in July 2026, aimed at advancing African integration and free movement across the continent.
Similarly, Congo-Brazzaville’s President Denis Sassou Nguesso confirmed the removal of visa requirements for all African nationals during the 2026 African Development Bank Group Annual Meetings. The move brings the total number of visa-free countries accessible to Nigerians to 44, supporting the African Continental Free Trade Area’s integration goals.
