Jaissle admits he is ‘Scared’ of breaking Premier League touchline rules
Newcastle United head coach Matthias Jaissle has admitted he is “scared” of being punished for his animated touchline behaviour when the Premier League season begins, according to the Shields Gazette. The 38-year-old has developed a reputation for passionate conduct and was frequently outside his technical area during Newcastle’s friendly against Valencia.
Premier League rules require coaching staff to remain within their designated areas, while only one member of staff can stand at the front at a time. Jaissle acknowledged he must adjust after asking how many yellow cards could lead to a touchline ban. He joked that referees might “close their eyes” occasionally as he learns the rules.
