Tinubu directs forensic investigation into fake agencies, IPPIS
President Bola Tinubu has ordered a forensic investigation into the processes that allowed fake government agencies to operate, including a review of the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System, according to a Leadership Newspapers report.
Finance Minister Taiwo Oyedele said the directive followed briefings on the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, a fictitious agency that secured an office and Treasury Single Account code, though no funds were disbursed. The ICPC’s investigation uncovered at least two additional fake agencies, Information Minister Mohammed Idris said. Oyedele warned that fake agencies could mean fake employees, undermining efforts to raise genuine civil servants’ pay.
