Boom Supersonic’s Overture, a planned heir to Concorde, is “weeks away” from its first engine tests, according to a report by The Mirror. CEO Blake Scholl said the Symphony engine is nearing final assembly, calling it “pretty clear it’s going to work.”

The jet, cruising at 1,300 mph, could slash London-New York travel from eight hours to 3.5. American Airlines, United and Japan Airlines have secured pre-orders.
