NNPC to launch 70 self-service fuel stations nationwide
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited plans to deploy between 50 and 70 smart, self-service filling stations nationwide within six months, according to Punch Newspapers. NNPC’s Executive Vice President, Downstream, Mumuni Dagazau, disclosed this in Abuja at the commissioning of a technology-driven station with an electric vehicle charging facility along Bill Clinton Drive, Airport Road.
The stations will transform into “energy hubs” offering petrol, EV charging, LPG and CNG services. Dagazau dismissed job loss concerns, saying the expanded services would require more workers to support automation and customer assistance. The Abuja facility holds 180,000 litres of petrol, features 16 pumps and six EV charging points, and runs entirely on solar power.
