Chelsea Player Ratings: Rogers, Neto, and Fofana score 4/10 in Brentford defeat

Chelsea’s difficult Premier League run continued on Friday as they suffered a 3-0 defeat away to Brentford. Jaidon Anthony headed the hosts in front after the break before Igor Thiago and Fabio Carvalho added late goals.

Xabi Alonso’s side struggled to create clear chances, while Brentford were more dangerous from set-pieces and punished Chelsea’s defensive mistakes.

Emiliano Martínez – 5/10: Made a couple of routine stops but was not tested heavily. His distribution and kicking remained an area of concern throughout the evening.

Wesley Fofana – 4/10: Struggled to maintain his defensive position and was regularly pulled away from danger areas. His use of the ball was also below par.

Maxence Lacroix – 5/10: Looked the most dependable of Chelsea’s defenders for long periods, but his misplaced pass contributed to Brentford’s second goal.

Levi Colwill – 5/10: Had another difficult outing and appeared uncomfortable operating on the left side of the back three.

Pedro Neto – 4/10: Failed to reproduce his recent wing-back form. He was wasteful in possession and offered little threat in the final third.

Jordan Henderson – 6/10: Enjoyed a positive Premier League debut despite Chelsea’s defeat. He moved the ball neatly and brought plenty of communication and leadership.

Valentin Barco – 6/10: Worked tirelessly without the ball and pressed aggressively. His energy was useful, although he struggled to influence Chelsea’s attacking play consistently.

Pep Chavarría – 6/10: Provided plenty of energy on the left, defended competently and offered attacking threat, although some questionable decisions prevented a stronger performance.

Cole Palmer – 5/10: Saw little of the ball in dangerous areas. He may have won a penalty after staying on his feet during an early challenge.

Morgan Rogers – 4/10: Failed to make an impact after a couple of early opportunities and was beaten too easily for Anthony’s opener.

Danny Welbeck – 5/10: Made his first Premier League start for Chelsea but struggled to influence proceedings. The experienced striker received limited service throughout.
