Wenger, African World Cup coaches set for CAF strategy conference
Arsene Wenger will lead a high-profile panel featuring several coaches who guided African nations at the 2026 FIFA World Cup during next week’s CAF Strategy Conference in Cabo Verde. According to CAF Online, Wenger, FIFA’s Chief of Global Football Development, will be joined by Cabo Verde coach Bubista, Morocco’s Mohamed Ouahbi, Egypt’s Hossam Hassan and DR Congo’s Sébastien Desabre.
The conference runs from October 7 to 9 and will bring together coaches, football legends and officials from CAF’s 54 member associations to discuss the continent’s football development. The panel will examine Africa’s record World Cup performance, with nine of its 10 teams reaching the knockout stages.
