Luis de la Fuente makes honest admission after Spain’s Croatia comeback
Spain manager Luis de la Fuente admitted his players continue to surprise him after they fought back to beat Croatia 2-1 in the Nations League according to GOAL. Ivan Perisic put Croatia ahead before Arsenal midfielder Mikel Merino came off the bench to score twice and complete Spain’s comeback.
De la Fuente praised his team’s resilience, particularly their ability to handle a hostile atmosphere in Split. The victory also extended Spain’s unbeaten run to 43 matches and secured their place in the Nations League quarter-finals. De la Fuente described Merino as one of the world’s best players in his position and praised his ability to score important goals.
