Youri Tielemans admits Manchester United lacking in effort, technique, and tactics

Youri Tielemans has delivered a scathing assessment of Manchester United’s performance following their humiliating 4-1 Champions League defeat to Como, admitting the club’s problems span every area of the pitch, according to CaughtOffside.

The heavy loss in Italy has intensified pressure on manager Michael Carrick after another display lacking control, intensity, and defensive discipline. Rather than pinpointing a single tactical error, Tielemans conceded that the entire team fell short of required standards.

When asked after the match what Manchester United are currently missing, the midfielder offered a blunt response: “It’s everything, you know…” He further expanded on the team’s widespread struggles:

“It’s a combination of everything, whether it’s tactical, technical, effort. But, yeah, we need to try and do better at everything”. Tielemans’ honest admission highlights a deeper institutional struggle at Old Trafford, placing both Carrick’s game preparation and the squad’s basic competitive effort under severe scrutiny.
