Trump under fire over remarks about Senator’s muscles and buttocks
US President Donald Trump has sparked online backlash after making unusually detailed comments about Republican Senator Jon Husted’s physique during a campaign rally in North Carolina.
According to the Irish Star, Trump praised Husted’s muscular build while campaigning for Republican Senate candidate Michael Whatley in Greenville on Tuesday.
“I’m studying his body, I’ve never studied the body of a man before, it’s not my thing,” Trump told the crowd.
He continued: “But I looked at his a– and then I looked at his legs, I said his a–, ‘s—, it’s like a pile of muscle’ And then I looked at his legs and I said, ‘man, his feet are big,’ then I looked at his shoulders and I tapped him on the shoulder and it actually hurt my hand. It was like a piece of steal. I said, ‘this guy’s a monster.'”
The comments prompted social media users to criticise the president, with some describing his remarks as bizarre and inappropriate.
Trump had made similar comments about Husted at an earlier Ohio rally this month, again drawing attention to the senator’s athletic build.
