Real reason we dumped Peter Obi for Tinubu — Ex-Obidients
Former members of Peter Obi’s 2023 presidential campaign council have announced their support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
According to P.M. News, the group, now known as Batified Obidients, announced its decision at a press conference in Abuja.
Its National Coordinator, Adesina Fagbenro-Byron, accused Obi of lacking the leadership capacity required to govern Nigeria effectively.
“Looking back with clear eyes, we have come to see that the demands of leading a country as complex and diverse as Nigeria may not be what Mr. Peter Obi was prepared for,” the statement read.
The group also criticised Obi’s handling of talent, diversity and internal disagreements during his campaign.
It defended Tinubu’s economic reforms, describing them as painful but necessary for national development.
The group pledged to mobilise support for the All Progressives Congress ahead of the elections.
However, Labour Party representatives questioned the defectors’ claims about their previous campaign positions.
