‘It’s rig and die’: Ovie Omo-Agege warns against electoral malpractice in 2027
Former Deputy President of the Senate and Nigeria Democratic Congress candidate for Delta Central Senatorial District, Ovie Omo-Agege, has issued a stern warning against electoral malpractice ahead of the 2027 general elections, according to a report by Daily Post.
Speaking on Thursday during the official flag-off of his senatorial campaign in the Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, Omo-Agege declared that voters would fiercely resist any attempts to subvert the democratic process or manipulate ballot results. He emphasized that the political awareness of Nigerians has significantly grown, making it impossible for unscrupulous politicians to rig elections without facing strong grassroots resistance.
Addressing an enthusiastic crowd of supporters, the former senator delivered a fiery caution to political opponents and potential perpetrators of electoral fraud, stating, “It’s rig and die. Anybody who tries to rig the 2027 election will face the consequences. We will not allow anyone to steal our votes.”
Furthermore, Omo-Agege urged his constituents to remain fully vigilant throughout every stage of the electoral cycle, stressing that their individual and collective mandates must count and that vote-buying or illegal ballot tampering will no longer be tolerated under any circumstances. His remarks reflect rising political tensions and the heightened emphasis on electoral transparency as parties ramp up campaign activities nationwide.
