Aisha Yesufu, four prominent Obidients missing from Peter Obi’s 2027 campaign council

At least five prominent supporters of Peter Obi have reportedly been omitted from the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to Daily Post, the party unveiled its campaign leadership over the weekend, naming former Bayelsa governor Seriake Dickson as chairman and Obi as co-chairman.

Those reportedly missing include Aisha Yesufu, Isaac Fayose, Moses Paul, popularly known as Dr Mo, Precious Oruche, also called Mama Pee, and Peter Akah, known as Randy Peter.

The five were prominent in the Obidient Movement, which mobilised support for Obi during the 2023 presidential election.

Their absence has generated reactions on social media, with critics questioning the composition of the campaign council.

Reacting, Lere Olayinka, an aide to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, wrote:

“NDC supreme national leader do Campaign Council finish, Aisha Yesufu no dey among. E no good nah”.

The party has not publicly explained their reported omission.
