NAF to keep paying crash victims’ salaries until death benefits are settled
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced that families of 25 personnel killed in the October 5 aircraft crash in Ondo State will continue receiving their deceased relatives’ salaries until their death benefits are fully paid.
According to The Nation, Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, gave the assurance during a meeting with bereaved families on Wednesday.
Represented by Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, Aneke said the arrangement would provide financial stability while benefits were processed.
“The Nigerian Air Force stands with you, and our thoughts and prayers remain with every family affected by this tragedy,” he said.
The October 5 crash involved an ATR 42-500 aircraft, NAF 931, in Igbokoda, killing everyone aboard.
Aneke explained that difficult terrain had complicated recovery operations and investigations.
He assured families that the NAF would maintain communication, provide counselling and ensure a thorough investigation into the accident.
