Leeds United fan dies after medical emergency during Man United clash
Leeds United have paid tribute to supporter Colin Westby, who has died aged 68 after suffering a medical emergency during their Premier League clash with Manchester United last month.
According to the Daily Mirror, Westby became ill while watching the 1-1 draw at Elland Road on October 18 and was rushed to hospital, where he was placed in a medically induced coma.
Following a period of unresponsiveness, doctors made the decision to withdraw life support. Westby had been a season-ticket holder for more than 50 years.
Leeds confirmed they would honour him during the 68th minute of their next home league fixture against Tottenham Hotspur on November 7. The club also extended condolences to his family and friends.
