Lamine Yamal surpasses Kylian Mbappé as highest-scoring teenager in Champions League history
Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal has officially become the highest-scoring teenager in Champions League history after scoring against Aston Villa on Tuesday evening, according to a report by GOAL.
The Spanish international’s strike took his career tally in Europe’s premier club competition to 14 goals, surpassing the previous record of 13 set by Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé during his teenage years in France.
Yamal achieved the milestone in just 37 Champions League appearances.
Yamal had previously equalled Mbappé’s mark by reaching 10 Champions League goals prior to turning 19.
With his 20th birthday not occurring until next July, the Barcelona number 10 remains in a position to further extend his goalscoring total during the current campaign.
