Tinubu’s City Boy Movement appoints alleged attackers of Sowore as Ekiti Chief Security Officer, treasurer
Fresh revelations have linked two individuals accused of participating in the October 30 attack on activist Omoyele Sowore to leadership positions within President Bola Tinubu’s City Boy Movement in Ekiti State.
According to SaharaReporters, an executive list dated July 4, 2026, identifies Ijarotimi Ayodeji Akintade as Chief Security Officer and Adenijo Olusola as State Treasurer.
Sowore had accused both men of participating in the attack at Tawakalitu Restaurant in Ado-Ekiti, which reportedly left members of his team injured.
The document, signed by the organisation’s media director, Alofe Ayodele Moses, outlines appointments intended to strengthen grassroots mobilisation for Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign.
The movement’s Ekiti director, Kasali Oluwafemi, previously faced allegations from Sowore of threatening his wife.
The revelations raise questions about the alleged attackers’ political affiliations, although their involvement remains unproven.
Police have arrested 11 suspects over the incident, while Sowore continues demanding an independent investigation into the assault and allegations of political involvement.
