Only lazy Nigerians will struggle to put food on their tables — APC Campaign DG Yari declares

APC Presidential Campaign Council Director-General Abdulaziz Yari has claimed that hardworking Nigerians would have food on their tables despite economic hardship, arguing that hunger should be measured by food availability rather than people’s inability to afford it.

Abdulaziz Yari, Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, has said Nigerians who are not lazy will have food on their tables despite the prevailing economic hardship.

According to The Cable, Yari made the remarks on Friday during the APC presidential campaign rally in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

The former Zamfara State governor argued that food remained available in markets, questioning whether residents had encountered shortages while shopping.

“Just as I said, we have hunger. Let me ask a question here. Akwa Ibom people, from where I came from, we have food in the market,” he said.

Yari maintained that hunger should be associated with food scarcity rather than economic difficulties.

“If there’s no food in the market, that’s what we are calling hunger. But anyone who is not a lazy person, definitely he would have food on his table.”

His remarks come amid rising food prices and widespread concerns over Nigerians’ purchasing power.
