Jeffries vows Democrats won’t work with Trump’s new chief of staff Stephen Miller
Hakeem Jeffries says Democrats will not work with Stephen Miller, accusing Trump’s new chief of staff of driving a “violent mass deportation machine.”
House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries, the likely next Speaker, has vowed that Democrats will not work with President Donald Trump’s new chief of staff, Stephen Miller, the New York Post reports.
The Post called it the first big sign of friction since the party’s major upset in Tuesday’s midterms.
“Stephen Miller is the architect of Donald Trump’s violent mass deportation machine,” Jeffries said on Sunday on ABC’s “This Week.” He claimed Miller was responsible for policies that led to the deaths of Americans, naming Alex Pretti and Renee Nicole Good.
“It was an irresponsible decision, in my view,” he said of Trump’s choice.
