Adulteration fears: Dangote Refinery moves to restrict PMS sales to importers

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery is considering restricting Premium Motor Spirit sales to marketers who still import petrol, amid concerns that some are blending substandard imported fuel with Dangote products before distribution.

According to Peoples Gazette, the measure could take effect this week, subject to consultations.

Sources say the refinery fears blended products are being wrongly associated with its brand, and has flagged the absence of a standard regulator laboratory to verify imported fuel quality as Nigeria shifts from import dependence toward domestic refining.
