Tinubu’s foreign travels cost Nigeria N37.64bn in under three years — Report

President Bola Tinubu’s domestic and foreign travels have cost Nigeria’s Presidency N37.64 billion between June 2023 and April 2026, according to an analysis by Daily Trust of records from accountability platform GovSpend.

Spending peaked in 2024 at over N25.26 billion, driven by forex allocations and Presidential Air Fleet funding. Tinubu has made 52 foreign trips, spending roughly 261 days abroad since taking office. Separately, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu’s travels gulped N700.71 million between 2023 and 2024. Tinubu is currently on a three-week European vacation, starting in London.
