Anambra police arrest woman for filming, selling pornographic video of 8-year-old daughter
A 36-year-old woman, Anulika Onyeanusia, has been arrested by the Anambra State Police Command in Onitsha over alleged child sexual abuse, after a video showing her subjecting her eight-year-old daughter to abuse went viral online, according to Vanguard.
Investigators said the suspect confessed to uploading the content to a pornographic platform for financial gain, disclosing that she had earned as much as $300 from such uploads. Police said preliminary findings suggest her elder daughter may also have been subjected to similar exploitation.
Acting on open-source intelligence, operatives traced and arrested the suspect on Thursday evening, rescuing four children aged two, three, six and nine from the home. Items believed relevant to the investigation were also recovered.
Command spokesperson SP Tochukwu Ikenga confirmed the arrest, noting that the suspect’s husband is also being questioned. Commissioner of Police Nnanna Oji described the act as “unacceptable” and directed a thorough investigation, while assuring that the rescued children would receive care, counselling and protection, with their identities kept confidential throughout the process.
