Andrew Tate admits lying about Nigerian passport to boost social media profile

Controversial influencer Andrew Tate has admitted that his previous claim of possessing a Nigerian passport was false and intended to boost his social media popularity.

According to Peoples Gazette, Tate and his brother, Tristan, made the admission in court filings while seeking bail as British prosecutors process their extradition to the United Kingdom.

Tate’s lawyers said his claims of holding passports from several countries, including Nigeria, were exaggerated as part of his online persona.

They also admitted that luxury cars featured in his social media posts were rented for appearances.

The lawyers argued that outrageous posts helped generate views, followers and income for the brothers.
