AOC unexpectedly surges to the front of 2028 presidential race on prediction market
Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has become the frontrunner for the 2028 Democratic presidential nomination on prediction markets, according to a report by The Independent.
Polymarket data showed 21% of traders backing Ocasio-Cortez as of Wednesday, ahead of California Governor Gavin Newsom at 17%, with Kalshi showing similar results. However, conventional polls still place former Vice President Kamala Harris on top, followed by Newsom, with AOC in fourth.
Ocasio-Cortez has neither announced nor ruled out a bid, saying her focus remains on helping Democrats win the 2026 midterms.
