ASUU threatens indefinite strike after 200 Kaduna varsity lecturers resign

Share:

The Academic Staff Union of Universities at Kaduna State University has revealed that over 200 lecturers — including professors — have left the institution due to poor conditions of service and the non-implementation of the 2025 Federal Government-ASUU Agreement, which took effect in January 2026.

ASUU-KASU Chairman Dr Abubakar Abdullahi disclosed at a Monday press conference in Kaduna that most departing lecturers secured appointments at newer universities within and outside Kaduna State.

Vanguard reports that the union has issued a two-week ultimatum to the Kaduna State Government and university authorities to implement and domesticate the agreement, warning that failure to comply will trigger a total and indefinite strike.
