Atiku tells Tinubu: Your ₦600bn cash-transfer figures don’t add up
ADC presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has questioned the Tinubu administration’s claim of disbursing over ₦600 billion in cash transfers to vulnerable households, according to a report by Vanguard.
In a statement by his aide, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku noted that 15 million households at ₦75,000 each would total over ₦1.1 trillion, far exceeding the stated figure, and questioned why the Presidency’s household count dropped from 15 million in July to just over 10 million by August 26.
He demanded a full payment trail, including verified households, tranches and an independent audit, accusing the government of “arithmetic by convenience.”
