Chelsea agree £7.5m deal for Emiliano Martinez as double transfer coup takes shape

Chelsea have agreed a £7.5 million deal to sign Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, according to TEAMtalk, with the Argentine set to move to Stamford Bridge on a permanent transfer. The 33-year-old has reportedly agreed to Chelsea’s proposal as the club look to strengthen their goalkeeping department.

According to Team Talk, Martinez is expected to sign a two-year contract with an option for another season. Chelsea have also reached an agreement worth £40 million for 18-year-old Atalanta defender Honest Ahanor, with personal terms reportedly settled and a medical to follow. The two deals represent another major investment by the Blues.
