Bandits abduct Kaduna Councillor, two sons in midnight attack
Suspected bandits have abducted a Supervisory Councillor for Special Duties in Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Lamido Muhammad, alongside his two sons.
The children, identified as Aliyu Lamido and Amir Lamido, were reportedly taken to an undisclosed location.
According to Daily Post, the attackers invaded Muhammad’s residence in Wucicciri, Abba area of Zaria, around midnight on Sunday, kidnapping all three family members.
A community source said the abductors had yet to contact the family or demand ransom, leaving relatives uncertain about their whereabouts.
The source expressed concern over persistent kidnappings in the area and urged authorities to strengthen security and protect residents from further attacks.
The incident has renewed concerns about insecurity across Kaduna State and the wider North-West, where armed groups have repeatedly targeted communities.
Efforts to obtain confirmation from the Kaduna State Police Command were unsuccessful.
The command’s spokesperson, DSP Mansir Hassan, could not be reached for comment, as telephone calls reportedly went unanswered.
