Barcelona confirm pre-season friendly against FC Basel

Barcelona have confirmed a pre-season friendly against FC Basel as part of their preparations for the 2026/27 campaign. According to Barca Universal, Hansi Flick’s side will face the Swiss club on August 16 at St. Jakob-Park.

The fixture was arranged after Barcelona cancelled their planned meeting with Ittihad Tanger in Morocco. The Basel clash follows friendlies against Birmingham City and a triangular tournament in Udine involving Nottingham Forest and Udinese.

Barcelona will conclude pre-season with the Joan Gamper Trophy against Al-Ahly. The Catalans previously faced Basel in the 2008/09 Champions League, winning 5-0 away before drawing 1-1 at home.
