Barcelona keep Julian Alvarez dream alive with 2027 transfer plan
Barcelona have not abandoned their pursuit of Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez despite failing to sign him this summer. According to Barca Universal, citing El Larguero reporter Santi Ovalle, Barcelona are considering a fresh approach in January or, more likely, June 2027.
The Catalan club reportedly believes Alvarez remains their preferred long-term No.9 and has held back funds for another attempt. Barcelona eventually signed Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal to solve their immediate striking needs after Atletico refused to negotiate over Alvarez. However, the Argentine remains a key target as Barcelona plan for their next five-year project.
