Boy, 6, dies after alleged slap from teacher over homework

A six-year-old boy, Pranay Teja, has died after allegedly being slapped and beaten with a stick by a teacher at Little Garden School in Visakhapatnam, India, over unfinished homework, according to Vanguard.

The boy’s family said CCTV footage showed the teacher hitting him shortly before he collapsed and was rushed to King George Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

His father said Pranay left home in good health that morning with no prior illness. Police have opened an investigation, and authorities have set up a three-member committee to probe the incident as the body awaits post-mortem examination.
